  • How can entrepreneurial failure experience serve as an open sesame for subsequent job-seeking? An impression management perspective

    Abstract: Numerous entrepreneurial firms fail. Most entrepreneurs who experience entrepreneurial failure quit entrepreneurship and return to the labor market in search of a paid job. Job-seeking not only is a turning point in an entrepreneur’s own recovery from entrepreneurial failure but also potentially avoids wastage of society’s entrepreneurial resources. However, although it is a common phenomenon, theoretical research on job-seeking among entrepreneurs who have failed has been limited. Grounded in impression management theory, this study explored entrepreneurs’ social motivations to manage failure and constructed an integrated framework to examine how they use impression management strategies in their subsequent job-seeking. The study focused on three issues: (1) tracing the unique definition and structure of entrepreneurs’ impression management strategies after entrepreneurial failure, in which two core dimensions of impression management strategies—assertive and defensive strategies—were proposed; (2) revealing how the nature of an entrepreneurial failure event affects subsequent impression management strategies; and (3) unraveling the mechanism by which impression management strategies influence job-seeking outcomes using signaling theory. This study clarifies the hitherto opaque process leading from entrepreneurial failure to success in job-seeking among entrepreneurs.

  • A Comparative Study of Multi-Platform Consumer Review Topics Based on CoOccurrence Network and Sentiment Analysis

    Abstract: [Purpose/Significance] The purpose of this article is to study the similarities and differences in the evaluation content of users of virtual life communities, social platforms and shopping platforms for the same product. [Method/Process] By selecting the three platforms of You Really Beautiful App, Weibo, and JD.com as the experimental objects, 54 071 user comment texts related to facial cleanser as basic skin care products were collected, using LDA topic generation model, co-occurrence network and machine learningbased sentiment analysis method, a multi-platform comparative analysis of user comment texts is carried out. [Result/Conclusion] The study found that there are similarities and differences in the topic feature words, co-occurrence network and topic sentiment of eight comment topics on the three platforms, and the content tendencies conform to the characteristics of each platform.

  • Observer reactions to unethical pro-organizational behavior and their feedback effects

    Abstract:

    In the past decade, unethical pro-organizational behavior (UPB) has been a hot topic in the organizational behavior field. Compared to the research on the formation mechanisms of UPB, the studies on the effects of UPB are still rather limited and mainly focus on the effect of leader UPB on employees and the effect of UPB on self-aware actors. Learning from and inspired by some views of correspondent inference theory and social cognitive theory, we develop a social interaction model of UPB between coworkers. This model, in which both actors and observers are employees, proposes that after observing actors conducting UPB, observers will expect the effect of UPB on actors and attribute motives to UPB, which, then affected by observers’ integrity, may trigger relevant psychological and behavioral reactions of observers. Furthermore, after receiving observers’ behavioral reactions, actors will interpret the intentions underlying beneath observers’ feedback, which then will affect the behavior changes of actors. In the end, we put forward some future research directions of this theoretical model in terms of observers’ moral judgment to UPB, cognitive appraisals related to the unethical attribute of UPB, and the internal mechanisms of behavior changes of UPB actors.

  • The concept and influencing factors of unethical pro-organizational behavior: A motivational perspective

    Abstract: Unethical pro-organizational behavior (UPB) is an important research topic which has drawn more and more attention from the organizational behavior field in recent years. Yet, it’s worth noting that the conceptualization of UPB is somewhat vague. Based on the motivational perspective, this paper deeply deconstructs and analyses the conceptual ambiguity of UPB in terms of definition, characteristic, motivation and type, and form a systematic concept connotation of UPB. Further, following the motivational logic behind UPB, this paper systematically reviews the influencing factors of UPB, and explains the mechanisms of these influencing factors on UPB. Finally, this paper provides specific suggestions for future research in terms of subtype, measurement, research perspective, influencing factor, inhibition mechanism, influencing mechanism and localization. "

  • Application and Innovation of Big Data Visualization Analysis in Supporting Think Tanks Research

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] Think tanks research in the big data environment aims at collecting, processing, analyzing, and digging out the logical rules contained in the massive information effectively, and representing large amounts of irregular data by visualization methods, which is a hot topic of research on think tanks. [Method/process] This article started with analyzing the current research status of think tanks and the big data visualization at home and abroad, and related theories of think tanks research methods based on big data visualization were sorted out. The application and innovation of big data visualization methods in supporting think tanks research were analyzed, and CiteSpaceⅡ software was used to analyze the research status of think tanks research in China. [Result/conclusion] The results show that the research methods of think tanks in China were relatively simple at present, and big data visualization research has two features: multi-disciplinary and multi-industry. Think tanks research methods based on big data visualization have developed rapidly, including techniques of the massive data process, the visualization algorithm, the graphic visualization, the human-computer interaction, the distributed processing and so on, which can support the big data visualization analysis in think tanks research. The application of big data visualization analysis in think tanks research can help think tanks process data efficiently, make decisions scientifically and accurately, visualize complex graphics, simplify complex problems, enhance users’ interaction well, agglomerate and share resources, and enhance their role and influence in the application research of think tanks.

  • 支持高校智库专业化发展的供应链管理模型

    Abstract: [目的/意义]高校智库建设需要从结果导向转为过程导向,完善体制机制,提升专业化水平。[方法/过程]本文借鉴管理学理论,提出通过建设高校智库供应链实现过程管理。通过定义高校智库产品,主要包括3个基本环节(需求对接,科学研究以及成果推广)和2种运营模式(点菜模式和自选模式),建立产品的供应链。基于面向订单生产和面向库存生产模式,分析了点菜和自选模式的运营特点。[结果/结论]最后结合样本,分析了产品供应链在实践中的特点和问题,为高校智库提升专业化水平提供建设思路和参考模型。

  • 大数据可视化分析在支撑智库研究中的应用与创新

    Abstract:摘要:[目的/意义]大数据环境下的智库研究主要针对海量的信息进行有效采集、处理、分析,挖掘信息中蕴含的逻辑规律,并且将大量的无规则数据可视化表示,这是当今智库研究的热点。[方法/过程]文章通过分析国内外智库和大数据可视化研究现状,整理了目前大数据可视化的智库研究方法的相关理论。分析大数据可视化方法在智库研究中的应用与创新,并运用CiteSpaceⅡ软件分析我国智库研究现状。[结果/结论]结果表明:我国目前对智库研究的方法还比较单一,大数据可视化研究涉及多学科和行业应用。大数据可视化的智库研究方法发展迅速,包括支持智库大数据可视化分析的海量数据处理、可视化算法、图形可视化、人机交互、分布式处理等技术。大数据可视化分析在智库研究中的应用有助于智库数据高效处理、决策科学准确化、复杂图形可视化、复杂问题简化、用户交互良好、资源集聚共享、提升智库作用和影响力。

  • 中国智库融资模式的研究——来自国际知名智库的启示

    Abstract:[目的/意义]智库的融资模式是其可持续发展的一个决定性因素。[方法 /过程]本文对六个国际知名智库融资模式进行分析,总结智库的筹资渠道、所占比重、前提条件和适用范围,在借鉴国外智库经验基础上,提出建设我国特色新型智库融资机制的对策建议。[结果 /结论 ]研究发现融资模式主要有政府资助、社会捐赠、市场化运作收益、PPP(Public-Private Partnership)模式和委托研究项目经费五种,论文对多元化、多渠道、多层次的融资体制,基于PPP和委托课题的中国智库融资运作模式,保持智库独立性,完善智库捐赠税收的法律政策,融资风险管理等也进行了探讨,以支撑中国特色新型智库建设。
