  • Analysis of the Technology New Media Operation Mode and Its Enlightenment to Library Mobile Knowledge Service Platforms

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] Technology new media are the products of the combination of the technological information and new media communication tools. The innovation of contents, models and carriers are worth all kinds of knowledge service platforms’ reference. [Method/process] This paper selected the top ten new media of “Chinese Technology New Media Ranking in 2016” and combed the contents, communication channels, online and offline activities and profit models of the top ten media to analyze the characteristics of technology new media and the existing problems. [Result/conclusion] Library mobile knowledge service platforms should learn from these technology new media. In the future, library mobile knowledge service platforms should attract more users to take part in contributing knowledge on the basis of ensuring the content quality and form a model of information dissemination, online services and offline activities to make their own market competitiveness.

  • Present and Future of Global Information Literacy: In Review of the European Conference on Information Literacy

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] The paper reviews the European Conference on Information Literacy (ECIL) in the past five years, providing references for domestic scholars to understand the present situation and future trends of global information literacy. [Method/process] According to the author's experience of attending ECIL and conference materials & papers, the paper summarizes the conferences from the five aspects:the conference overview, the distribution of participating countries, the topics of the conference and the research hotspot, the various conference activities and the participating of Chinese scholars, to help domestic scholars understand the latest progress and the future development for information literacy. [Result/conclusion] The ECIL platform reflects the trend of global information literacy to some extent:focusing on the practical application,expanding the research field of information literacy education,extending more related concepts, enriching more target users and innovating new teaching process and means. The enthusiasm of Chinese scholars to participate in ECIL has been continuously improved. From the first two sessions, only scholars from Taiwan participated, but in 2017, scholars and postgraduates from mainland China participated in the ECIL in various ways. Scholars in related fields in the world have fully demonstrated the latest achievements and contributions made by Chinese universities and research institutes in the field of information literacy. Finally, it is recommended that the Chinese information literacy community draw on the advanced experience of ECIL in both content and form.

  • Research on the Progress of Scholarly Publishing Literacy Courses in Foreign University Libraries

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] With the increasing complexity of the publishing environment, scholarly publishing literacy has gradually become a new growth point of information literacy education in university libraries. This paper investigates and analyzes the situation and characteristics of scholarly publishing literacy courses in foreign university libraries, so as to provide references for the construction of scholarly publishing literacy courses in Chinese libraries.[Method/process] By the methods of network survey and literature survey, this paper selected 16 representative scholarly publishing literacy courses of foreign university libraries. Then it analyzed practical scholarly publishing literacy courses progress and characteristics from five aspects:the teaching content, form, atmosphere, team and evaluation.[Result/conclusion] Foreign university libraries have actively participated in the scholarly publishing literacy courses. The research cases show the rich tea, the diverse teaching forms, the active teaching atmosphere, the cooperative teaching team, and the sustainable teaching evaluation. Chinese libraries should fully learn from the experience of foreign university libraries in scholarly publishing literacy education and timely carry out scholarly publishing literacy courses.

  • Research and Enlightenment of Scholarly Publishing Literacy Resources of Publishers and Paper Editing and Proofreading Companies

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] Cooperation is the only way to develop scholarly publishing literacy education. Publishers, paper editing and proofreading companies and university libraries have established a close cooperative relationship to participate in the scholarly publishing literacy education. This paper systematically analyzed the scholarly publishing literacy resources with novel forms and cutting-edge contents accumulated by publishers and paper editing and proofreading companies, so as to provide more possibilities for multi-institutional cooperation in scholarly publishing literacy education. [Method/process] Using online survey method, this paper selected 7 well-known publishers and paper editing and proofreading companies. Then it analyzed 14 kinds of education resources which were designed by these companies, from three aspects of forms, content and learning methods. [Result/conclusion] Publishers and paper editing and proofreading companies have designed diversified types, structured content and interactive learning methods for scholarly publishing literacy resource. In the future, university libraries should fully cooperate with these companies to enrich the scholarly publishing literacy resources.

  • 科技新媒体运营模式及其对图书馆移动知识服务平台的启示

    Abstract:[目的/意义]科技新媒体是科技信息服务和新媒体传播手段结合的产物,在内容、模式和载体的创新等方面都值得各类知识服务平台借鉴学习。[方法/过程] 选取《2016中国科技新媒体排行榜》中影响力排名前10名的科技新媒体,对其内容来源、传播渠道、线上与线下活动开展情况及盈利模式进行梳理和分析,揭示科技新媒体呈现的特点及存在问题。[结果/结论]图书馆移动知识服务平台应借鉴科技新媒体,在保证内容质量的基础上吸引更多的用户参与内容建设,形成传播资讯、线上服务与线下活动三位一体的平台,形成自己的市场竞争力 。
