摘要: The recent wave of foundation models has witnessed tremendous success in computer vision (CV) and beyond, with the segment anything model (SAM) having sparked a passion for exploring task-agnostic visual foundation models. Empowered by its remarkable zero-shot generalization, SAM is currently challenging numerous traditional paradigms in CV, delivering extraordinary performance not only in various image segmentation and multi-modal segmentation (e.g., text-to-mask) tasks, but also in the video domain. Additionally, the latest released SAM 2 is once again sparking research enthusiasm in the realm of promptable visual segmentation for both images and videos. However, existing surveys mainly focus on SAM in various image processing tasks, a comprehensive and in-depth review in the video domain is notably absent. To address this gap, this work conducts a systematic review on SAM for videos in the era of foundation models. As the first to review the progress of SAM for videos, this work focuses on its applications to various tasks by discussing its recent advances, and innovation opportunities of developing foundation models on broad applications. We begin with a brief introduction to the background of SAM and video-related research domains. Subsequently, we present a systematic taxonomy that categorizes existing methods into three key areas: video understanding, video generation, and video editing, analyzing and summarizing their advantages and limitations. Furthermore, comparative results of SAM-based and current state-of-the-art methods on representative benchmarks, as well as insightful analysis are offered. Finally, we discuss the challenges faced by current research and envision several future research directions in the field of SAM for video and beyond.

摘要: Accelerator Driven sub-critical System (ADS) is considered to be the most important candidate for nuclear waste transmutation. We propose a Multi-Target Accelerator Driven System (MTADS) to resolve two longstanding challenges of ADS, namely heat removal and the associated target lifetime, and inhomogeneous power distribution that affects burn-up of the reactor. An 18 mA, 1 GeV proton beam is split into 12 beams by radio frequency cavities and injected to 12 compact targets inside the reactor. With beam power of 18 MW, the sub-critical reactor is driven to 1500 MW thermal power. The peaking factor of the reactor is reduced to 1.7 by optimization of targets number and position for Multi Target Accelerator Driven System. The maximum beam current density is also reduced to 18.5 μA/cm2, which prolongs the beam window lifetime to 12 months with T91 steel. Towards the next generation ADS, the concept of MTADS simplifies the sub-critical system and increases the transmutation efficiency.

摘要: Synchrotron microscopic data commonly suffer from poor image quality with degraded resolution incurred by instrumentation defects or experimental conditions. Image restoration methods are often applied to recover the reduced resolution, providing improved image details that can greatly facilitate scientific discovery. Among these methods, deconvolution techniques are straightforward, yet either require known prior information or struggle to tackle large experimental data. Deep learning (DL)-based super-resolution (SR) methods handle large data well, however data scarcity and model generalizability are problematic. In addition, current image restoration methods are mostly offline and inefficient for many beamlines where high data volumes and data complexity issuesare encountered. To overcome these limitations, an online image-restoration pipeline that adaptably selects suitable algorithms and models from a method repertoire is promising. In this study, using both deconvolution and pretrained DL-based SR models, we showthatdifferent restoration efficacies can be achieved on different types of synchrotron experimental data. We describe the necessity, feasibility, and significance of constructing suchan image-restoration pipeline for future synchrotron experiments.

摘要: X-ray computed tomography (CT) has been an important technology in paleontology for several decades. It helps researchers to acquire detailed anatomical structures of fossils nondestructively. Despite its widespread application, developing an efficient and user-friendly method for segmenting CT data continues to be a formidable challenge in the field. Most CT data segmentation software operates on 2D interfaces, which limits flexibility for real-time adjustments in 3D segmentation. Here, we introduce Curves Mode in Drishti Paint 3.2, an open-source tool for CT data segmentation. Drishti Paint 3.2 allows users to manually or semi-automatically segment the CT data in both 2D and 3D environments, providing a novel solution for revisualization CT data in paleontological studies

摘要: The Circular Electron Positron Collider (CEPC) is designed to precisely measure the properties of the Higgs boson, study electroweak interactions at the Z-boson peak, and search for new physics beyond the Standard Model. As a component of the 4th Conceptual CEPC detector, the drift chamber facilitates the measurement of charged particles. This study implemented a Geant4-based simulation and track reconstruction for the drift chamber. For the simulation, detector construction and response were implemented and added to the CEPC simulation chain. The development of track reconstruction involved track finding using the Combinatorial Kalman Filter method and track fitting using the tool of GenFit. Using the simulated data, the tracking performance was studied. The results showed that both the reconstruction resolution and tracking efficiency satisfied the requirements of the CEPC experiment.

摘要: We conduct an experimental investigation on the integration of film cooling for thermal protection in a 72-mm cylindrical rotating detonation engine (RDE). The cooling scheme employs the injection of cooling air through a series of cat-ear-shaped film cooling holes densely distributed along the outer wall of the cylindrical combustor. Our findings reveal successful initiation of the RDE and sustained propagation of the rotating detonation wave (RDW) when film cooling is activated.

摘要: Here we report a new form of amphicyonid from an uncertain locality in the LinxiaBasin. The derived dental traits imply an affinity to Magericyon, previously known from Europe and possibly southern Asia. The specimen suggests a higher diversity of amphicyonids in eastern Asia than previously thought, and more discovery with stratigraphic information will be needed to elucidate the evolution of Amphicyonidae in eastern Asia.

摘要: The previously alleged ‘eugnathid amiiform’ Sinoeugnathus kueichowensis is asmall-sized halecomorph from the Middle Triassic (Ladinian) marine deposits of Guizhou andYunnan, China. A morphological redescription and taxonomic revision of this taxon are providedbased on a detailed examination of 15 new specimens. Among them, IVPP V24315 (standardlength = 64 mm) is appointed as the neotype, given that the holotype is missing. Studies of thesespecimens revealed some morphological details previously undescribed or misidentified forthis taxon, including a hatchet-shaped antorbital, two broad suborbitals, a sensory canal in themaxilla, and three pairs of extrascapulars. For the first time, Sinoeugnathus was incorporatedinto an analysis of halecomorph phylogeny, and the results recover it as the sister taxon of theAnisian Subortichthys from Luoping, Yunnan, and both are grouped with two Ladinian generaAllolepidotus and Eoeugnathus from the Monte San Giorgio area into a monophyletic group(namely Subortichthyidae fam. nov. herein) at the base of Ionoscopiformes. This taxonomicreassessment of Subortichthys provides new insights into the phylogeny and paleogeographicevolution of Ionoscopiformes.

摘要: All the extant rhino species belong to Rhinocerotini and either have one horn (a nasal horn) or two horns (a nasal horn and frontal horn). So far, the earliest Rhinocerotini to have been identified in China is the “Dicerorhinus” cixianensis, which was based on a juvenile skull with an associated mandible from the Middle Miocene locality of Jiulongkou in Cixian County, HebeiProvince of northern China. Our analyses suggest that there are similarities between this specimenand the modern genus, Dicerorhinus, but it differs in several cranial traits and therefore cannotbe assigned to the modern genus. Instead, it is closer to the Middle Miocene Lartetotheriumfrom Europe, especially the specimen from La Retama in Spain and should be assigned to thatgenus, indicating the presence of intracontinental dispersal at this time. The Jiulongkou faunais the only Middle Miocene fauna with Rhinocerotini in China, and, together with the faunalcomposition, this implies a more humid and closed environment, in contrast to those found inwestern China. We suggest that the position of the posterior border of the nasal notch is a goodindication of the specimen’s evolutionary level in Rhinocerotini. The anterior position of the nasalnotch as seen in modern Dicerorhinus, together with its certain similarities to L. cixianensis aswell as its differences with more specialized species of the Dihoplus-Pliorhinus-Stephanorhinus-Coelodonta lineage, supports the conclusion that Dicerorhinus experienced little change during anearly 10 Myr evolutionary history, possibly due to the low selection pressure seen in the tropical/subtropical forests in southeastern Asia.

摘要: Currently, three types of superconducting magnets are used in particle accelerators: cos2uptheta, CCT, and serpentine. However, all three coil configurations have complex spatial geometries, which make magnet manufacturing and strain-sensitive superconductor applications difficult. Compared with the three existing quadrupole coils, the racetrack quadrupole coil has a simple shape and manufacturing process, but there have been few theoretical studies. In this paper, the two-dimensional and three-dimensional analytical expressions for the magnetic field in coil-dominated racetrack superconducting quadrupole magnets are presented. The analytical expressions of the field harmonics and gradient are fully resolved and depend only on the geometric parameters of the coil and current density. Then, a genetic algorithm is applied to obtain a solution for the coil geometry parameters with field harmonics on the order of 10-4. Finally, considering the practical engineering needs of the accelerator interaction region, electromagnetic design examples of racetrack quadrupole magnets with high gradients, large apertures, and small apertures are described, and the application prospects of racetrack quadrupole coils are analyzed.

摘要: The inference of Mesozoic avialan bird diets previously relied on traditional methods such as morphological comparisons among taxa and direct evidence such as identifiable stomach contents. However, the application of these approaches has been limited because of uncommon preservation of relevant fossil evidence. We searched for additional informative characteristics to help develop new methods to assess the diet of fossil birds. In particular, the morphology of the avialan neck is highly modularized and plays roles in multiple functions including food acquisition. The structure of and variation among the cervical vertebrae likely reflects the demands of feeding ecology in fossil and extant birds because the avialan neck evolved to, at least in part, replace the forelimbs by assisting with activities such as cranioinertial feeding and other ecological functions. Here, we utilize morphometric and statistical analyses to establish an initial quantitative relationship between cervical morphology and dietary modes in both extant and extinct birds. This morphometric framework derived from the cervical morphology of living birds is used as a basis to estimate the diet categories of five taxa of Mesozoic birds. The results indicate that there is a quantitative correlation between cervical morphology differentiation and their interrelated feeding modes. The enantiornithine taxa examined exhibit cervical morphologies similar to extant insectivorous or carnivorous birds. The ornithurine species show cervical morphologies that are more aligned with generalist or herbivorous birds, and exhibit preliminary morphological features tied to aquatic adaptions. These findings are consistent in part with other direct fossil evidence, as well as hypotheses developed from other skeletal comparisons. Therefore, the cervical vertebral series, as a skeletal system closely linked to food acquisition, can serve as one of the valuable metrics to provide information for inferring the diet of long extinct Mesozoic birds.

摘要: The Shanghai Laser Electron Gamma Source(SLEGS) has delivered a quasi-monochromatic, continuously energy-tunable gamma-ray beam. Based on the photon activation analysis(PAA) method, SLEGS has built and developed a photon activation analysis platform, including online activation and offline low-background HPGe detector measurement systems, as an alternative to direct measurement methods and a cross-tests at low throughput. Due to the short half-lives spanning from minutes to days and characteristics such as ease of fabrication, cost-effectiveness, and stability, gold (197Au) and zinc (64Zn) emerge as favorable activation targets in the gamma-ray beam flux monitor. Notably, their utility shows a multitude of advantages in monitoring the gamma-ray beam flux typically 105 photons/s with the energy of 13.16 to 19.08 MeV under the condition of the 3 mm coarse collimator. Especially in high-flux $\gamma$-ray beam experiments can be well applied.

摘要: POLAR-2 is a gamma-ray burst (GRB) polarimeter that is designed to study the polarization in GRB radiation emissions, aiming to improve our knowledge of related mechanisms. POLAR-2 is expected to utilize an on#2;board polarimeter that is sensitive to soft X-rays (210 keV), called low-energy polarization detector (LPD). We have developed a new soft X-ray polarization detector prototype based on gas microchannel plates (GMCPs) and pixel chips (Topmetal). The GMCPs have bulk resistance, which prevents charging-up effects and ensures gain stability during operation. The detector is composed of low-outgassing materials and is gas-sealed using a laser welding technique, ensuring long-term stability. A modulation factor of 41.28% 0.64% is obtained for a 4.5 keV polarized X-ray beam. A residual modulation of 1.96% 0.58% at 5.9 keV is observed for the entire sensitive area.

摘要: Radio frequency quadrupoles (RFQs), which are crucial components of proton injectors, significantly affect the performance of proton accelerator facilities. An RFQ with a high frequency of 714 MHz dedicated to compact proton injectors for medical applications is designed in this study. The RFQ is designed to accelerate proton beams from 50 keV to 4 MeV within a short length of 2 m and can be matched closely with the downstream drift tube linac to capture more particles through a preliminary optimization. To develop an advanced RFQ, challenging techniques, including fabrication and tuning method, must be evaluated and verified using a prototype. An aluminium prototype is derived from the conceptual design of the RFQ and then redesigned to confirm the radio frequency performance, fabrication procedure, and feasibility of the tuning algorithm. Eventually, a new tuning algorithm based on the response matrix and least-squares method is developed, which yields favorable results based on the prototype, i.e., the errors of the dipole and quadrupole components reduced to a low level after several tuning iterations. Benefiting from the conceptual design and techniques obtained from the prototype, the formal mechanical design of the 2-m RFQ is ready for the next manufacturing step.

摘要: The corrosion behavior of 316H stainless steel (SS) in the impure and purified NaCl-KCl-MgCl2 salt was investigated at 700 C . Results indicate that the main deleterious impurity induced corrosion in the impure salt was the absorbed moisture, present in the form of MgCl26H2O. 316H SS occurred severe intergranular corrosion with a corrosion depth of 130 m for 1000 h in the impure NaCl-KCl-MgCl2 salt. In contrast, the purification treatment of molten chloride salt by the dissolved Mg metal can remove the absorbed moisture, and the corresponding reactions were also discussed. As a result, the corrosiveness of NaCl-KCl-MgCl2 salt is reduced significantly. 316H SS occurred slight uniform corrosion with a depth of less than 5 m for 3000 h in the purified NaCl-KCl-MgCl2 salt.

摘要: The neutron capture cross sections (${n, upgamma}$) of Bromine was performed with the time-of-flight (TOF) technique at the Back-n facility of the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS). Prompt $ upgamma$-rays originating from neutron-induced capture events were detected by four C${}_6$D${}_6$ detectors. The pulse height weighting technique (PHWT) and the double-bunch unfolding method based on the Bayesian theory were used in the data analysis. To obtain reliable measurement results, background deductions, normalization, and corrections were carefully considered. The multilevel R-matrix Bayesian code SAMMY was used to extract the resonance parameters in the resolved resonance region (RRR). The average cross sections in unresolved resonance region the was obtained from 10 to 400 keV. The experimental results were compared with the data of several evaluated libraries and previous experiments in the resolved and unresolved resonance region. The TALYS code was used to describe the average cross sections in the unresolved resonance region. Astrophysical Maxwell average cross sections (MACSs) of ${}^{79,81}$Br from $ kT $ = 5 to 100 keV was calculated over a sufficiently wide range of neutron energies. At a thermal energy of $kT=30$ keV, the MACS value for ${}^{79}$Br 638$ pm$64 mb is in good agreement with the KADoNiS recommended value. By contrast, the value of 293$ pm$29 mb for ${}^{81}$Br is substantially higher than those of the evaluated database and the KADoNiS recommended value.

摘要: The NaI:Tl scintillator is an innovative material for dual-gamma-ray and neutron detection with a low 6Li concentration. To achieve real-time n/ discrimination, a zero-crossing time comparison algorithm based on trapezoidal pulse shaping was developed. The algorithm can operate efficiently at low sampling rates and was implemented on a single-probe portable digital n/ discriminator based on a feld-programmable gate array (FPGA). The discriminator and NaI:Tl,6Li detector were tested in a neutron-gamma mixed field produced by an 241Am-Be neutron source to evaluate the performance of the algorithm. The Figure of Merits (FoM) was measured as 2.88 at a sampling rate of 50 MHz, indicating that the discriminator with its embedded algorithm has a promising n/ discrimination capability. Efficient discrimination at sampling rates of 40 and 25 MHz demonstrates that the capability of this method is not limited by low sampling rates.

摘要: As a unique probe, precision measurement of textit{pp} solar neutrinos is important for studying the Sun's energy mechanism, monitoring thermodynamic equilibrium, and studying neutrino oscillation in the vacuum-dominated region. For a large-scale liquid scintillator detector, one bottleneck for textit{pp} solar neutrino detection comes from pile-up events of intrinsic $^{14}$C decays. This paper presents a few approaches to discriminate textit{pp} solar neutrinos and $^{14}$C pile-up events by considering the difference in their time and spatial distributions. In this work, a Geant4-based Monte Carlo simulation is constructed. Then multivariate analysis and deep learning technology were adopted respectively to investigate the capability of $^{14}$C pile-up reduction. As a result, the BDTG model and VGG network showed good performance in discriminating textit{pp} solar neutrinos and $^{14}$C double pile-up events. hl{At the $^{14}$C concentration assumption $5 times10^{-18} g/g$,} their signal significance can achieve 10.3 and 15.6 using only one day of statistics. In this case, the signal efficiency is 51.1 % for discrimination using the BDTG model when rejecting 99.18 % $^{14}$C double pile-up events, and the signal efficiency is 42.7 % for the case using the VGG network when rejecting 99.81 % $^{14}$C double pile-up events.

摘要: Abstract Main quadrupole magnets are critical for the Circular Electron and Positron Collider (CEPC), and are specifically designed as dual aperture quadrupole (DAQ) magnets. However, the field crosstalk between the two apertures presents challenges. As the CEPC will work at four beam energies of Z, W, Higgs and ttbar mode, the DAQ magnets will operate at four field gradients spanning from 3.18 to 12.63 T/m. The first short quadrupole magnet prototype with the bore diameter of 76 mm and magnetic length of 1.0 m revealed the problems of large magnetic field harmonics and a magnetic center shift within the beam energy range. Accordingly, a compensation method was proposed in this work to solve the field crosstalk effect. By adjusting the gap height at the middle of the two apertures, the field harmonics and magnetic center shift are significantly reduced. After optimization, the short prototype was modified using a new scheme. The field simulations are validated from the magnetic measurement results. Further, the multipole field meets the requirements at the four beam energies. The detailed magnetic field optimization, field harmonics adjustment, and measurement results are presented herein.
