Abstract:
Subclinical hyperthyroidism was defined as a serum thyrotropin (TSH) concen-tration below the nomal range withnormal levels of thyroid hormones, which was considered to be an intermediate state between health and clinicalhyperthyroidism.Whether subclinical hyperthyroidism increased the risk of cardiovascular disease and should be screenedand actively treated, results of the previous relevant researches remain controversial. Recent studies showed that subclinicalhyperthyroidism was significantly associated with higher risk of cardiovascular disease and cardiovascular mor-tality. Wereviewed the research development of the relationship between subclinical hyperthyroidism and cardiovascular disease.
