  • Study on Altmetrics Academic Quality Evaluation Method Based on Fairness Test

Subjects: Library Science,Information Science >> Library Science submitted time 2023-08-27 Cooperative journals: 《图书情报工作》

Abstract: [Purpose/significance] In order to explore whether the measurement results of Altmetrics indicators are consistent in the evaluation of subject papers, this paper attempts to build a comprehensive literature evaluation model based on Altmetrics through the existing measurement data, and to create new metrics for the evaluation and reuse of data.[Method/process] In this study, the Altmetrics indicators of all articles published in the Civil Engineering disciplines from 2009 to 2016 on the PLoS ALMs are obtained. The 15 original indicators are divided into 4 principal components using correlation analysis and principal component analysis methods, which are applied to specific disciplines. It analyzes the correlation between the single index and the comprehensive evaluation index of Altmetrics, and uses the fairness test method to explore the differences in the relevance of time to the evaluation of the paper.[Result/conclusion] The study finds that after using the fairness test method to eliminate time impact, the relevance of the citation indicators has increased, while the indicators related to social media communication have declined. But the Twitter index has not decreased, and it has always been highly correlated with the F value.

  • University Library Space Planning Method: Taking Tongji University Library as an Example

Subjects: Library Science,Information Science >> Library Science submitted time 2023-08-27 Cooperative journals: 《图书情报工作》

Abstract: [Purpose/significance] Under the background of "Double World-Class", the basic elements of university library "people, resources, space" has been a major change. Tongji University Library has explored library space planning strategy based on user demands to promote library service innovation and transformation.[Method/process] The paper explored the library space planning and design requirement analysis method, through content analysis, case study, questionnaire methods to realize the library development trends and user demands. Based on demand analysis, this paper put forward the key elements of the new spatial layout, function layout, the characteristics and the framework. Then it put forward feasible suggestions for the innovation and development of Tongji university library.[Result/conclusion] Space service has become an important service to the development of the future library service mode. The paper explored space planning method and the key elements of university library, putting forward space planning framework based on the user's demand, helping to promote the library service innovation ability.

  • Librarians' Diversity in the Collaboration: A Case Study of Nanjing Agricultural University Library

Subjects: Library Science,Information Science >> Library Science submitted time 2023-08-26 Cooperative journals: 《图书情报工作》

Abstract: [Purpose/significance] Librarians' diversity and teamwork are two important scales of ClimateQUALTM. The relation between the two scales has not yet thoroughly investigated. The paper uses the collaboration in the publications of the librarians of Nanjing Agricultural University library during the past 10 years to analyze Librarians' diversity in their collaboration. This analysis will provide evidence for the promotion of organization climate in libraries. [Method/process] The paper catalogs the librarians and their attributions such as age, professional titles, educational background, discipline background, position, etc., and then calculates the Simpson index and Entropy to measure the diversity of librarians. It draws the collaboration network to demonstrate the state of collaboration. [Result/conclusion] Using librarians as catalogues, Simpson index is 0.994, and the entropy is 0.6. Using the attributions of the librarians to catalog, the collaborators' Simpson indices are between 0.82 and 0.997, and entropies are between 0.59 and 0.89. The values of Simpson index are very high, while the entropy is relative low but is still larger than 0.59. The higher diversity may indicate the collaborations have conducted within different catalogues of the librarians but have not yet focused. The paper constructs the collaborative network and analyzes the strong links. It is found that the collaboration is still relatively loose, and the strong team has not been formed. Librarians with high education and high title are the important power to improve to performance of scientific collaboration. Although the subject backgrounds of librarians is wide, the library and information science is still the important factor to promote the output of research.
