摘要: We analyzed the relationship between several basic parameters describing supermassive black holes such as jet power, black hole spin, accretion disk magnetic field, black hole mass, etc. We found that there is a general correlation between these parameters, such as jet power is significantly positively correlated with black hole spin, while black hole mass is significantly negatively correlated with black hole spin. To apprehend these relationships, we consider the Blandford–Znajek model to be superior to the Blandford–Payne model. It is also found that the intrinsic gamma luminosity of the FSRQs has a positive correlation with the accretion disk magnetic field, while the intrinsic gamma luminosity of the BL Lacs has a negative correlation with the accretion disk magnetic field. A feedback effect may exist between accretion disk accretion rate and magnetic field, which may be the key to the evolution between BL Lacs and FSRQs. There is no significant difference in the jet power and jet generation efficiency of FSRQs and BL Lacs, which suggests that the jets are generated by the same mechanism. The contribution rate of accretion rate to jet generation efficiency is high, while the contribution rate of accretion rate to jet power is very low.

摘要: Recently, single crystalline SnSe and its sodium doped compound were reported to have an ultralow thermal conductivity and high thermoelectric figure of merit. However, the highest high thermoelectric figure of merit for polycrystalline SnSe-based materials is not larger than unity. In this study, we report a high thermoelectric figure of merit 1.21 at 903K along the hot pressing direction for polycrystalline SnSe, realized by incorporating a proper proportion of carbon black as nano-inclusions. The exceptional performance arises from the ultra-high power factor, which comes from a high electrical conductivity and an enhanced Seebeck coefficient through energy-dependent scattering.

摘要: In this paper, we report the synthesis of high-quality Ta2Ni3Se8 crystals free of noble or toxic elements and the fabrication and testing of photodetectors on the wire samples. A broadband photoresponse from 405 nm to 1550 nm is observed, along with performance parameters including relatively high photoresponsivity (10 mA W^-1) and specific detectivity (3.5 * 10^7 Jones) and comparably short response time ({\tau}_rise = 433 ms, {\tau}_decay = 372 ms) for 1064 nm, 0.5 V bias and 1.352 mW mm^-2. Through extensive measurement and analysis, it is determined that the dominant mechanism for photocurrent generation is the photo-bolometric effect, which is believed to be responsible for the very broad spectral detection capability. More importantly, the pronounced response to 1310 nm and 1550 nm wavelengths manifests its promising applications in optical communications. Considering the quasi-one-dimensional structure with layered texture, the potential to build nanodevices on Ta2Ni3Se8 makes it even more important in future electronic and optoelectronic applications.

摘要: Switchgrass (Panicum virgatum L.) is considered a model herbaceous energy crop for the USA, for its adaptation to marginal land, low rainfall and nutrient-deficient soils; however, its low biomass yield is one of several constraints, and this might be rectified by modulating plant growth regulator levels. In this study, we have determined whether the expression of the Zea mays gibberellin 20-oxidase (ZmGA20ox) cDNA in switchgrass will improve biomass production. The ZmGA20ox gene was placed under the control of constitutive CaMV35S promoter with a strong TMV omega enhancer, and introduced into switchgrass via Agrobacterium-mediated transformation. The transgene integration and expression levels of ZmGA20ox in T0 plants were analysed using Southern blot and qRT-PCR. Under glasshouse conditions, selected transgenic plants exhibited longer leaves, internodes and tillers, which resulted in twofold increased biomass. These phenotypic alterations correlated with the levels of transgene expression and the particular gibberellin content. Expression of ZmGA20ox also affected the expression of genes coding for key enzymes in lignin biosynthesis. Our results suggest that the employment of ectopic ZmGA20ox and selection for natural variants with high level expression of endogenous GA20ox are appropriate approaches to increase biomass production of switchgrass and other monocot biofuel crops.

摘要: Herein, nanoparticles SnSe are prepared by fusion method together with ball-milling technique and the effect of hot-pressing temperatures on the thermoelectric properties of the dense materials is explored. Due to the optimization of carrier concentration, the peak figure of merit (ZT) value of the compacted material reaches 0.73 for SnSe sample hot-pressed at 400°C and 450°C. The present investigation indicates that the thermoelectric performance of the SnSe compound can be significantly improved by sintering with suitable temperature.

摘要: Sequence-function relations for small RNA (sRNA)-mediated gene silencing were quantified for the sRNA RyhB and some of its mRNA targets in Escherichia coli. Numerous mutants of RyhB and its targets were generated and their in vivo functions characterized at various levels of target and RyhB expression. Although a core complementary region is required for repression by RyhB, variations in the complementary sequences of the core region gave rise to a continuum of repression strengths, correlated exponentially with the computed free energy of RyhB-target duplex formation. Moreover, sequence variations inthe linker region known to interact with the RNA chaperone Hfq also gave rise to a continuum of repression strengths, correlated exponentially with thecomputed energy cost of keeping the linker region open. These results support the applicability of the thermodynamic model in predicting sRNA-mRNA interaction and suggest that sequences at these locations may be used to fine-tune the degree of repression. Surprisingly, a truncated RyhB without the Hfq-binding region is found to repress multiple targets of the wild-type RyhB effectively, both in the presence and absence of Hfq, even though the former is required for the activity of wild-type RyhB itself. These findings challenge the commonly accepted model concerning the function of Hfq in gene silencing-bothin providing stability to the sRNAs and in catalyzing the target mRNAs to take on active conformations-and raise the intriguing question of why many endogenous sRNAs subject their functions to Hfq-dependences.

摘要: CSS J102913+404220 is a peculiar narrow line Seyfert 1 galaxy with an energetic nuclear optical outburst. We present a detailed analysis of its multi-wavelength photometric and spectroscopic observations covering a period of decade since outburst. We detect mid-infrared (MIR) flares delayed by about two months relative to the optical outburst, with an extremely high peak luminosity of log(L_4.6um)>44 erg/s. The MIR peak luminosity is at least an order of magnitude higher than any known supernovae explosions, suggesting the optical outburst might be due to a stellar tidal disruption event (TDE). We find late-time X-ray brightening by a factor of >30 with respect to what is observed about 100 days after the optical outburst peak, followed by a flux fading by a factor of ~4 within two weeks, making it one of Active Galactic Nuclei (AGNs) with extreme variability. Despite the dramatic X-ray variability, there are no coincident strong flux variations in optical, UV and MIR bands. This unusual variability behavior has been seen in other highly accreting AGNs and could be attributed to absorption variability. In this scenario, the decrease in the covering factor of absorber with accretion rate could cause the X-ray brightening, possibly induced by the TDE. Most strikingly, while the UV/optical continuum remains little changes with time, an evident enhancement in the flux of H_alpha broad emission line is observed, about a decade after the nuclear optical outburst, which is an anomalous behavior never seen in any other AGNs. Such an H_alpha anomaly could be explained by the replenishment of gas clouds and excitation within Broad Line Region (BLR) that originates, perhaps from the interaction of outflowing stellar debris with BLR. The results highlight the importance of late-time evolution of TDE that could affect the accreting properties of AGN, as suggested by recent simulations.

摘要: The functionalization of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) by ozone treatment has been sys- tematically investigated by using Raman spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), organic elemental anal- ysis (OEA) and Boehm titration. The results showed that the functionalization process occurred at defective sites (opened mouths, tube caps, debris, etc.) before opening caps and truncating walls, and finally the graphitic structure was deteriorated. The surface oxygen content first increased with the treatment time but kept at around 8.0 wt% after 5 h. The analysis of the distribution of oxygen-containing groups re- vealed that phenolic hydroxyl was gradually converted to carboxyl and lactone. The carboxyl was found to play a pivotal role to reduce the over-potentials when we used the functionalized MWCNTs as the cat- alyst for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR).

摘要: This study investigates the composition dependence of magnetic structures of (Fe1−xMnx)Pt using first- principles method. A series of possible magnetic configurations are considered in the calculation to compare the relative stabilities after structural optimization, based on which, together with the com- parison between theoretical and experimental magnetic properties, the results largely support the ex- perimental finding in powders. The experimentally found stability of ferrimagnetic state in films with a wide composition range of x ≤ 0.5 is not fully supported by this study. The composition-dependent magnetic structures are discussed according to the exchange interactions.

摘要: Nitrogen-doped carbon nanofibers (MCNFs) with an aligned mesoporous structure were synthesized by a co-confined carbonization method using anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) membrane and tetraethy- lorthosilicate (TEOS) as co-confined templates and ionic liquids as the precursor. The as-synthesized MCNFs with the diameter of 80–120 nm possessed a bulk nitrogen content of 5.3 wt% and bimodal meso- porous structure. The nitrogen atoms were mostly bound to the graphitic network in two forms, i.e. pyridinic and pyrrolic nitrogen, providing adsorption sites for acidic gases like SO2 and CO2 . Cyclic exper- iments revealed a considerable stability of MCNFs over 20 runs of SO2 adsorption and 15 runs for CO2 adsorption. The MCNFs also have a preferable adsorption performance for Cd2+.

摘要: In the preliminary design process of switched reluctance machine (SRM), adjusting the number of wingding turns or cross-sectional area of conductor to optimize windings design has dramatic effects on the performances like torque density, efficiency and thermal dissipation and so on. However, the difficulty exists on how to guarantee these performances while optimizing winding design. This paper proposes an analytical optimization design method based on an regulation model of ampere density and coil space factor, which can directly determine the optimal number of winding turns, the cross- sectional area of conductor, the ampere density and the coil space factor. And a MATLAB pre-design program has been developed to provide two design schemes respectively with and without the optimization model. The comparison analysis has been further carried out with finite element analysis (FEA). The simulation results verify that the performances can be highly improved with the proposed optimization model.

摘要: Antireflection (AR) coatings that exhibit multi- functional characteristics, including high transparency, robust resistance to moisture, high hardness, and antifogging proper- ties, were developed based on hollow silica−silica nano- composites. These novel nanocomposite coatings with a closed-pore structure, consisting of hollow silica nanospheres (HSNs) infiltrated with an acid-catalyzed silica sol (ACSS), were fabricated using a low-cost sol−gel dip-coating method. The refractive index of the nanocomposite coatings was tailored by controlling the amount of ACSS infiltrated into the HSNs during synthesis. Photovoltaic transmittance (TPV) values of 96.86− 97.34% were obtained over a broad range of wavelengths, from 300 to 1200 nm; these values were close to the theoretical limit for a lossy single-layered AR coating (97.72%). The nanocomposite coatings displayed a stable TPV, with degradation values of less than 4% and 0.1% after highly accelerated temperature and humidity stress tests, and abrasion tests, respectively. In addition, the nanocomposite coatings had a hardness of approximately 1.6 GPa, while the porous silica coatings with an open-pore structure showed more severe degradation and had a lower hardness. The void fraction and surface roughness of the nanocomposite coatings could be controlled, which gave rise to near-superhydrophilic and antifogging characteristics. The promising results obtained in this study suggest that the nanocomposite coatings have the potential to be of benefit for the design, fabrication, and development of multifunctional AR coatings with both omnidirectional broadband transmission and long-term durability that are required for demanding outdoor applications in energy harvesting and optical instrumentation in extreme climates or humid conditions.
