Item Relational Analytical Method in Educational and Psychological Measurement:Ordering Analysis

Abstract: The essence of ordering analysis is to get the item hierarchy structure by ordering the items. The results of ordering analysis can be used not only for instructional hierarchy structure, but also for attitude analysis, cognitive diagnosis and so on. Since the ordering analysis was put forward by Airsian and Bart in the 1970s, it has been deeply developed more than 50 years abroad. However, in China, research on ordering analysis has not started yet. Therefore, the paper summarized the existing ordering analysis models and introduced the definitions and algorithms in the model, so as to provide reference for practical users and model researchers. Finally, the possible research directions of ordering analysis in the future are prospected.
