Immersive Experience: A Study on the Implementation Path of Ideological and Political Education Functions in University Library - A Case Study of the Southeast University Library

Abstract: To fulfill the fundamental task of cultivating morality and nurturing talents, universities need to harness the collective efforts of all staff to jointly establish an educational system. As an important cultural and educational hub, the library should play a particularly significant role in realizing the function of ideological and political education. This article conducts a survey on the current research and practice status of ideological and political education in university libraries, proposes the concept of enhancing the ideological and political education functions in university libraries through "immersive experience", explains its advantages and feasibility, and then designs the implementation path based on three immersive elements: educational materials, immersive situations, and interactive activities. Meanwhile, drawing from the practical case of Southeast University Library, we have summarized the content characteristics, practical strategies, and application scenarios of three typical immersive experience modes: base experience, multimedia audio-visual, and virtual reality, which are intended to serve as a reference for other university libraries embarking on immersive ideological and political education.
