Abstract:
Corrosion behavior of flame spraying coatings of Al and Al-Zn alloy exposed at positions located at tidal- and splash-zone respectively by the seaside of Zhoushan island was investigated by means of macroscopic and 3D-microscopic morphology observation, XRD and EIS. The results showed that the two coatings can provide good protection for carbon steel after 12 a exposure, however coatings located at tidal zone suffered from much serious corrosion than those at splash zone; Al coating showed better corrosion resistance than Zn-Al coating. Correspondingly the the corrosion impedance of Al coating was higher than that of Zn-Al coating.
