  • Study on data mining of hydrogen energy policy in China based on natural language processing technology

    Abstract: Report to the 20th National Congress of the CPC emphasized the importance of “working actively and prudently towards the goals of reaching peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality”, as well as “speeding up the planning and development of a system for new energy sources”. As a green and low-carbon secondary energy source, hydrogen energy has multiple applications in promoting the large-scale and efficient use of renewable energy as well as energy substitution in the field of transportation. It can also accelerate decarbonization in industry, and as such, is an indispensable part of building a new energy system, reaching peak carbon emissions and achieving carbon neutrality. This study takes 621 hydrogen energy policy documents issued by national and local government as research objects, designating to comprehensively study the hydrogen energy policy system. Based on policy informatics, this study uses natural language processing technology to mine data deeply and draws on hydrogen energy policy element information and key data indicators. It also combines content analysis, quantitative analysis and makes use of data visualization technology to study the evolution of hydrogen energy policy. It examines evolution trajectory of hydrogen energy policy, regional patterns of industry, the industrial chain layout, and other characteristics. The research framework and analysis methods used herein can help improve the systematization and timeliness of hydrogen energy policy research and proposes hydrogen energy policy suggestions to accelerate the development of hydrogen energy.

  • Thoughts on Regional Path of Promoting Comprehensive Demonstration of Low-carbon Energy Technology under “Dual Carbon” Goals

    Abstract: Promoting the regional demonstration of energy technology for carbon peak and carbon neutrality (referred to as “dual carbon”) is an important part of the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ action plan to support the “dual carbon” goals. This study discusses the significance of carrying out the comprehensive demonstration of “dual carbon” technology from the two dimensions of “technology integration demonstration” and “typical regional demonstration”. Besides, based on the existing research layout in the energy field of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the idea and four mainlines are proposed for the Chinese Academy of Sciences to promote “multi-energy integration”, which are clean and efficient utilization and coupling substitution of fossil energy, multi-energy complementation and large-scale application of non-fossil energy, industrial low-carbon and zero-carbon process reengineering, and digital intelligent integration optimization, namely. Finally, combined with the work of the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, this study discusses the background, goals, and technical routes of the comprehensive demonstration of multi-energy fusion technology in Northern Shaanxi, Liaoning Province, and Shandong Province, respectively for researchers and decision makers.

  • Development Path of Energy Science and Technology under “Dual Carbon” Goals: Perspective of Multi-energy System Integration

    Abstract: This study first analyzes the driving factors of China’s realization of the “dual carbon” goals from the two aspects of necessity and urgency, and proposes that to achieve the “dual carbon” goals, China shall reshape the energy structure and related industrial systems in a scientific and orderly manner, in which technology innovation plays a crucial leading role. Then, based on the long-term research and deveopment in the energy field of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the scientific and technological development path to lead the realization of the “dual carbon” goals with the concept of “multi-energy system integration” is proposed, and the connotation of the “multi-energy system integration” concept is elaborated into four technology development paths, including clean and efficient utilization and coupling substitution of fossil energy, multi-energy complementation and large-scale application of non-fossil energy, industrial low-carbon, and zero-carbon process reengineering,and digital, intelligent and multi-energy integration. Finally, suggestions are put forward to promote the implementation of the “multi-energy integration” technology development path.
