Abstract：   Purposes To analyse the structure of scientific and technical journal industry chain and the law of value flow of the industry chain, and make suggestions for the optimization of the value of scientific and technical journal industry chain. Methods Using the basic theory of knowledge management to sort out the upstream, midstream and downstream of the knowledge chain of scientific and technical journal industry development. Based on the value chain theory, combined with the science and technology journal industry chain, the value activities of the sub-chains such as supply chain, value-added chain and output chain are clarified, and the value flow of each link of the science and technology journal industry is made clear. Findings The structure map of science and technology journal industry chain with upstream production and organisation, midstream distribution and dissemination and downstream service and application is constructed with the flow of knowledge as the core. The value flow between modules is analysed from the perspective of value appreciation, and the value flow model of scientific and technical journal industry chain is constructed. Conclusions There are problems of value flow blockage, insufficient depth expansion and imbalance of benefit distribution in the industry chain of science and technology journals. Science and technology journals should break through the resource barriers to achieve synergistic sharing; accelerate the attraction of capital injection and clarify the revenue mechanism; deeply explore the content resources and explore the cross-border value-added channels; and improve the technical means to innovate the industrial ecology.
