Subjects: Library Science,Information Science >> Library Science submitted time 2023-07-26 Cooperative journals: 《图书情报工作》

Abstract: [Purpose/significance] To discuss the relationship between health risk perception and information interaction behavior is of great significance to accurately grasp the information needs and supply methods in the context of health risk perception, and then to improve the level of public risk perception. [Method/process] The existing theories of risk information seeking were systematically reviewed to theoretically explore the relevant factors and their relationships of information interaction behavior in the context of health risk perception. Then the model of the relationship between health risk perception and information behavior was constructed, the corresponding research variables were proposed. [Result/conclusion] Users’ health risk information interaction behavior is affected by users’ individual characteristics, health risk perception, affection, information adequacy, perceived information gathering capacity and the characteristics of information. The model constructed from these related factors of health risk perception and information interaction behavior reveals the dynamic interaction and iteration process between users and information systems from the surface, cognitive and contextual levels.

  • Conceptual Model of Information Framing Effects in Different Stages of Health Behavior Change

Subjects: Library Science,Information Science >> Library Science submitted time 2023-07-26 Cooperative journals: 《图书情报工作》

Abstract: [Purpose/significance] Framing effects have a universal influence on individual behavior change decision, while there are few studies on the influence of framing effects on the process of behavior change. In order to determine the practical value of frame effect in process of behavior change, this study further explores the generation of frame effect and its influence mechanism on all stages of behavior change. [Method/process] This study takes changes in health behavior as an example. In the behavior change situation based on the transtheoretical model, this study analyzes the mechanism of framing effect, determines the moderators and mediator of framing effects, and then discusses the influence of message framing on individual decision-making tendencies at different stages of change, and how such decision-making tendencies affect the process of behavioral change. [Result/conclusion] This study provides a scientific basis for improving the level of information intervention program of health behavior change and individual health management.

  • Research on the Influence of Message Frame on Health Risk Perception and Decision-making of Health Behavior Change

Subjects: Library Science,Information Science >> Information Science submitted time 2023-04-01 Cooperative journals: 《图书情报工作》

Abstract: [Purpose/significance] We adopted experiment and questionnaires to investigate the difference in the change of health risk perception and health behavior change decision of individuals at different stages of the healthy behavior change process after receiving different framed information, in order to determine which information can more effectively improve their awareness of risks and promote the formation of change decisions, and to provide a basis for the longitudinal information intervention of adverse behavior change in the next step.[Method/process] Based on the theoretical model proposed in the previous study, we selected eating breakfast on time as the special case of the study, conducted cross-sectional investigation and study on the subjects by using the self-made questionnaire, and conducted statistical analysis on the data obtained, and analyzed and discussed the results with statistical differences, so as to obtain feasible intervention opinions.[Result/conclusion] In the early stages of the health behavior change (i.e. the precontemplation and the contemplation), negative frame information more helps individuals to increase risk perception and promote the formation of behavior change decision, and positive framework information more helps individuals feel tendency of decision-making of entering to the next stage in the mid-late in health behavior change while there is no difference in the impact of the frame on health risk perception (i.e. the preparation and the action). But the individual is not susceptible to the influence of the framed information at end-stage phase of health behavior change (the maintenance).
