Then, this paper analyzes the current development status of Chinese dialect databases, including the construction of dialect phonetic databases and dialect literature databases, as well as the development of dialect digitization and dialect translation technology. Then, the paper predicts the future development trend of dialect databases, including the application of big data and cloud computing, the application of deep learning technology, the application of blockchain technology, and the update of new research methods and technologies. This paper particularly emphasizes the research and construction of the Gansu dialect database, including the steps and technical points of the construction of the dialect database, as well as the research results and significance. In general, the research and development of dialect databases is of vital significance for the protection of dialect culture, the promotion of national languages, and the promotion of dialect research.

  • Analysis of chloroplast genome features of endangered and rare plant Camellia minima

Subjects: Biology >> Botany >> Applied botany submitted time 2023-12-26 Cooperative journals: 《广西植物》

Abstract: Camellia minima, a rare and endangered species of Sect. Chrysantha, has not been previously explored in terms of its chloroplast genome. Utilizing the Illumina HiSeq 2000 platform, the chloroplast genome sequence of C. minima was sequenced, assembled, annotated, and analysed, The results showed that: (1) The chloroplast genome of C. minima was 156 961 bp in length, embodies a typical tetrad structure, and contains 136 annotated genes, including 87 protein-coding genes, 41 tRNA genes, and 8 rRNA genes. (2) The analysis identified 66 SSR loci and 39 repetitive sequences. (3) Codons prefer to use codons ending in A/U. Comprehensive ENC mapping, PR2-plot, and neutral analyses suggest natural selection as a primary factor shaping codon usage patterns. (4) Boundary analysis indicated variation in the length and position of the ycf1 gene among different species of yellow Camellia. (5) Phylogenetic analysis of the chloroplast genomes of published species of Sect. Chrysantha revealed that C. minima was most closely related to C. micrantha. This study provides crucial insights for exploring species evolution and enhancing exogenous gene expression, establishing a theoretical foundation for the conservation and utilization of species of Sect. Chrysantha in the future.

  • Ecological Restoration and Sustainable Development of Forest Ecosystem in Subtropical Red Soil Hilly Region Based on Long-term Observation and Research

Subjects: Other Disciplines >> Synthetic discipline submitted time 2023-03-28 Cooperative journals: 《中国科学院院刊》

Abstract: The subtropical forest and red soil hilly region interlace in southern China is one of the largest eco-environmental protection areas, and it plays a crucial role in ecological civilization and national sustainable development. Achieving sustainable development of the region requires extensive actions to make economic and social progress, and at the same time, to strengthen eco-environmental protection. Qianyanzhou Ecological Research Station, Chinese Academy of Sciences (“Qianyanzhou Station” for short), locates in typical red soil hilly region, mainly studies the subtropical forest ecosystem structure and function. The station has observed the key ecological processes and patterns across plantations, evergreen broad-leaved forests, secondary forests, and other ecosystems for a long time. The station developed the “Qianyanzhou Model,” which successively controlled the soil erosion and significantly enhanced ecological services and economic benefits, set an excellent example for this ecological restoration. The station is the earliest forest site to observe carbon and water flux in China, breaking through the technical bottleneck of collaborative observation of eddy-covariance and stable isotope technology. Further, they studied the mechanism of how subtropical forests respond to global changes from trees to region, and clarified the subtropical forest was a vital carbon sink in the northern hemisphere. The satiation revealed the coupling mechanism of material cycles and eco-hydrological processes from water-catchment to Ganjiang watershed. Qianyanzhou Station built several important demonstration models of multi-purpose forest management, and developed theory for subtropical forest ecosystem and management. Based on long-term study of root ecological process, the researchers of the station have unearthed evolutionary theory and provided the explanations for the root economic spectrum. Qianyanzhou Station is a typical station for subtropical forest, and represents a holistic restoration and sustainable development for mountains, rivers, forests, farmlands, lakes, and grasslands, providing a critical field platform for studying the subtropical forest ecosystems succession. It has also become a comprehensive station for regional observation and research, focusing on interdisciplinary studies between life sciences and geosciences.

  • Species diversity of macrofungi in Gupo Mountain and adjacent areas of Guangxi, China

Subjects: Biology >> Botany submitted time 2022-12-29 Cooperative journals: 《广西植物》

    Abstract:

Gupo Mountain is adjacent to the Nanling Biodiversity Conservation Priority Area of China, which nurtures rich biological resources. To understand the diversity of macrofungal species in this area, a survey and collection of macrofungal resources in Guangxi Gupo Mountain Provincial Nature Reserve (abbreviate as Gupo Mountain) and adjacent areas was conducted by random tracking method, and combined morphological and molecular biological methods to identify. The results were as follows: (1) A total of 348 species macrofungal were found in this area, belonging to 175 genera in 69 families in 2 phyla, 6 orders and 17 classes, including 40 species of edible mushrooms, 42 species of medicinal mushrooms and 7 species of toxic mushrooms. (2) The analysis of the species composition of the region shows that the dominant families were nine families, including Agaricaceae, Boletaceae, Entolomataceae and Hymenochaetaceae, etc.; the dominant genera are eleven genera, including Amanita, Crepidotus, Crinipellis, Entoloma, etc. (3) There are two endemic genera in China, namely Fragiliporia and Zangia, and 11 endemic species, namely Coltricia crassa, Coltricia weii, Entoloma caespitosum, Entoloma praegracile, Entoloma subtenuicystidiatum, Fomitiporia tenuitubus, Fomitiporia torreyae, Fragiliporia fragilis, Perenniporia nanlingensis, Perenniporia subtephropora and Tremella cerebriformis. (4) Analysis of the funga composition of macrofungi in Gupo Mountain and adjacent areas revealed that the composition of families can be divided into cosmopolitan element (66.67%), pantropic element (17.39%) and north temperate element (15.94%); while the genera can be divided into seven elements, among which the cosmopolitan element is the most dominant (61.71%), and pantropic element (20.57%) and north temperate element (13.71%) rank second and thirdly. The rich species data provide basic information for the assessment of macrofungal species diversity and sustainable utilization of resources in Gupo Mountain and adjacent areas.
