摘要: Parker Solar Probe and Solar Orbiter data are used to investigate the radial evolution of magnetic turbulence between $0.06 ~ \lesssim R ~\lesssim 1$ au. The spectrum is studied as a function of scale, normalized to the ion inertial scale $d_{i}$. In the vicinity of the Sun, the inertial range is limited to a narrow range of scales and exhibits a power-law exponent of, $\alpha_{B} = -3/2$, independent of plasma parameters. The inertial range grows with distance, progressively extending to larger spatial scales, while steepening towards a $\alpha_{B} =-5/3$ scaling. It is observed that spectra for intervals with large magnetic energy excesses and low Alfv\'enic content steepen significantly with distance, in contrast to highly Alfv\'enic intervals that retain their near-Sun scaling. The occurrence of steeper spectra in slower wind streams may be attributed to the observed positive correlation between solar wind speed and Alfv\'enicity.

摘要: Switchbacks are rapid magnetic field reversals that last from seconds to hours. Current Parker Solar Probe (PSP) observations pose many open questions in regards to the nature of switchbacks. For example, are they stable as they propagate through the inner heliosphere, and how are they formed? In this work, we aim to investigate the structure and origin of switchbacks. In order to study the stability of switchbacks, we suppose the small scale current sheets therein may work to braid and stabilize the switchbacks. Thus, we use the partial variance of increments method to identify the small scale current sheets, and then compare their distributions in switchbacks. With more than one thousand switchbacks identified with PSP observations in seven encounters, we find many more current sheets inside than outside switchbacks, indicating that these micro-structures should work to stabilize the S-shape structures of switchbacks. Additionally, with the helium measurements, we study the variations of helium abundance ratios and alpha-proton differential speeds to trace switchbacks to their origins. We find both helium-rich and helium-poor populations in switchbacks, implying the switchbacks could originate from both closed and open magnetic field regions in the Sun. Moreover, we observe that the alpha-proton differential speeds also show complex variations as compared to the local Alfv\'en speed. The joint distributions of both parameters show that low helium abundance together with low differential speed is the dominant state in switchbacks. The presence of small scale current sheets in switchbacks along with the helium features are in line with the hypothesis that switchbacks could originate from the Sun via interchange reconnection process. However, other formation mechanisms are not excluded.

摘要: The trace magnetic power spectrum in the solar wind is known to be characterized by a double power law at scales much larger than the proton gyro-radius, with flatter spectral exponents close to -1 found at the lower frequencies below an inertial range with indices closer to $[-1.5,-1.6]$. The origin of the $1/f$ range is still under debate. In this study, we selected 109 magnetically incompressible solar wind intervals ($\delta |\boldsymbol B|/|\boldsymbol B| \ll 1$) from Parker Solar Probe encounters 1 to 13 which display such double power laws, with the aim of understanding the statistics and radial evolution of the low frequency power spectral exponents from Alfv\'en point up to 0.3 AU. New observations from closer to the sun show that in the low frequency range solar wind turbulence can display spectra much shallower than $1/f$, evolving asymptotically to $1/f$ as advection time increases, indicating a dynamic origin for the $1/f$ range formation. We discuss the implications of this result on the Matteini et al. (2018) conjecture for the $1/f$ origin as well as example spectra displaying a triple power law consistent with the model proposed by Chandran et al. (2018), supporting the dynamic role of parametric decay in the young solar wind. Our results provide new constraints on the origin of the $1/f$ spectrum and further show the possibility of the coexistence of multiple formation mechanisms.

摘要: This review summarizes the research of Mercury's magnetosphere in the Post-MESSENGER era and compares its dynamics to those in other planetary magnetospheres, especially to those in Earth's magnetosphere. This review starts by introducing the planet Mercury, including its interplanetary environment, magnetosphere, exosphere, and conducting core. The frequent and intense magnetic reconnection on the dayside magnetopause, which is represented by the flux transfer event "shower", is reviewed on how they depend on magnetosheath plasma beta and magnetic shear angle across the magnetopause, following by how they contribute to the flux circulation and magnetosphere-surface-exosphere coupling. In the next, the progress of Mercury's magnetosphere under extreme solar events, including the core induction and the reconnection erosion on the dayside magnetosphere, the responses of the nightside magnetosphere, are reviewed. Then, the dawn-dusk properties of the plasma sheet, including the features of the ions, the structure of the current sheet, and the dynamics of magnetic reconnection, are summarized. The last topic reviews the particle energization in Mercury's magnetosphere, which includes the energization of the Kelvin-Helmholtz waves on the magnetopause boundaries, reconnection-generated magnetic structures, and the cross-tail electric field. In each chapter, the last section discusses the open questions related with each topic, which can be considered by the simulations and the future spacecraft mission. We close by summarizing the future BepiColombo opportunities, which is a joint mission between ESA and JAXA, and is en route to Mercury.

摘要: Magnetic flux rope, formed by the helical magnetic field lines, can sometimes remain its shape while carrying significant plasma flow that is aligned with the local magnetic field. We report the existence of such structures and static flux ropes by applying the Grad-Shafranov-based algorithm to the Parker Solar Probe (PSP) in-situ measurements in the first five encounters. These structures are detected at heliocentric distances, ranging from 0.13 to 0.66 au, in a total of 4-month time period. We find that flux ropes with field-aligned flows, although occur more frequently, have certain properties similar to those of static flux ropes, such as the decaying relations of the magnetic fields within structures with respect to heliocentric distances. Moreover, these events are more likely with magnetic pressure dominating over the thermal pressure. About one-third of events are detected in the relatively fast-speed solar wind. Taking into account the high Alfvenicity, we also compare with switchback spikes identified during three encounters and interpret their inter-relations. We find that some switchbacks can be detected when the spacecraft traverses flux rope-like structures. The cross-section maps for selected events are presented via the new Grad-Shafranov type reconstruction. Finally, the possible evolution of the magnetic flux rope structures in the inner heliosphere is discussed.

摘要: Realtime trigger and localization of bursts are the key functions of GECAM, which is an all-sky gamma-ray monitor launched in Dec 10, 2020. We developed a multifunctional trigger and localization software operating on the CPU of the GECAM electronic box (EBOX). This onboard software has the following features: high trigger efficiency for real celestial bursts with a suppression of false triggers caused by charged particle bursts and background fluctuation, dedicated localization algorithm optimized for short and long bursts respetively, short time latency of the trigger information which is downlinked throught the BeiDou satellite navigation System (BDS). This paper presents the detailed design and deveopment of this trigger and localization software system of GECAM, including the main functions, general design, workflow and algorithms, as well as the verification and demonstration of this software, including the on-ground trigger tests with simulated gamma-ray bursts made by a dedicated X-ray tube and the in-flight performance to real gamma-ray bursts and magnetar bursts.
