Abstract： Purposes In order to help academic journals to grasp the principles and essence of publishing operations, avoid operational misunderstandings, and enhance operational capabilities, Methods this paper analyzes the Technique and Tao of journal development in response to misunderstandings and undesirable phenomena in academic journal publishing operations. The principle and its relationship reveal the true meaning of academic journal publishing operations. Findings Tao is the fundamental, using Tao to control Technique and Technique to promote Tao , is not only the return of the original intention and originality of academic journal publishing, but also the need for the survival and development of academic journals. Conclusions Academic journals need to keep in mind their original academic aspirations, adhere to academic composure, scientifically understand the factors that affect operation, systematically consider the whole elements of operation, not be trapped by fame , and not be fettered by evaluation indicators, so as to achieve effective operation and sustainable development.
