Abstract: In deep space exploration, the spacecraft trajectory is mainly measured by the ground tracking stations. The radio signals transmission between spacecraft and stations will be affected by the earth’s propagation medium error, which contains neutral atmospheric delay and ionospheric delay, et al. According to the application requirements of propagation delay calibration in deep space exploration, we investigate the ground station observations’ propagation delay at home and abroad, and focus on the basic principles and calibrated methods of VLBI observations’ neutral atmosphere and ionosphere. The development trend of the key technologies in the future are analyzed, to improve the accuracy and timeliness of the propagation delay calibration. This paper can provide a reference for propagation delay calibration for trajectory determination of the spacecraft.
