Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of psychological nursing interventions on rehabilitation of elderly patients with stroke. Methods Totally 90 elderly patients with stroke were randomly divided into the observation group and control group, with 45 cases in each group. All patients received routine treatment and care for stroke rehabilitation, and those in the observation group were given psychological nursing interventions. The Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS)and Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS) were used to assess the emotion state. Bathel index was used to evaluate the patients’ activity of daily. A questionnaire-based survey using Newcastle Satisfaction with Nursing Scales (NSNS)was conducted to measure patients’ satisfaction. Results SAS and SDS scores decreased in both observation group and control group after intervention, and SAS and SDS scores were lower in the observation group than those in the control group(P<0.01). The Bathel index increased in both observation group and control group after intervention, and Bathel index was higher in the observation group than that in the control group(P<0.01). Higher degree of satisfaction was measured in the observation group that in the control group (P<0.01). Conclusion In addition to comprehensive treatment and nursing, targeted psychological nursing interventions are potentially effective to relieve the negative emotion and improve the activity of daily living in patients with stroke.

Subjects: Nursing >> Nursing submitted time 2022-08-17

Abstract: Objective To observe the curative effect of massage technique and acupoint application in treating constipation after stroke. Methods Totally 78 patients with acute constipation after cerebral infarction were selected, divided into control group, acupoint application group (Acupoint application group) and massage treatment group (massage group), among which 22 patients in control group, 31 patients in application group and 25 patients in massage group. The control group patients received integrative medicine treatment and nursing. On this basis, the massage group patients received acupoint massage technique; the Acupoint application group patients were given Traditional Chinese Medicine Shenque acupoint application. The defecation situation of the three groups was observed daily for 2 weeks, and the defecation frequency of the three groups was compared with the 7th and 14th day of treatment. Barthel Index was used to evaluate the activity of daily living of patients before discharge from hospital. Results In the first week of treatment, the defecation frequency was higher in the massage group than that in the massage group and control group (P<0.05). In the second week of treatment, the defecation frequency was higher in the massage group than that in the control group (P<0.05). Increased frequency of defecation was reported in three groups in the second week of treatment compared with that in the first week of treatment. All three groups showed a trend of higher Barthel index before discharge form hospital. Conclusion Acupoint therapy and constipation massage treatment can improve the defecation frequency of constipation patients after stroke, especially acupoint therapy.
