摘要: Cross-correlating the data on neutral hydrogen (H I) 21 cm intensity mapping with galaxy surveys is an effective method to extract astrophysical and cosmological information. In this work, we investigate the cross-correlation of MeerKAT single-dish mode H I intensity mapping and China Space Station Telescope (CSST) spectroscopic galaxy surveys. We simulate a survey area of 300 deg2 of MeerKAT and CSST surveys at z = 0.5 using Multi- Dark N-body simulation. The PCA algorithm is applied to remove the foregrounds of H I intensity mapping, and signal compensation is considered to solve the signal loss problem in H I-galaxy cross power spectrum caused by the foreground removal process. We find that from CSST galaxy auto and MeerKAT-CSST cross power spectra, the constraint accuracy of the parameter product H IbH IrH I,g can reach 1%, which is about one order of magnitude higher than the current results. After performing the full MeerKAT H I intensity mapping survey with 5000 deg2 survey area, the accuracy can be enhanced to can be a powerful tool to probe the cosmic H I property and the evolution of galaxies and the Universe.

摘要:Ancient China recorded a wealth of astronomical observations, notably distinguished by the inclusion of empirical measurements of stellar observations. However, determining the precise observational epochs for these datasets poses a formidable challenge. This study employs the generalized Hough transform methodology to analyze two distinct sets of observational data originating from the Song and Yuan dynasties, allowing accurate estimation of the epochs of these stellar observations. This research introduces a novel and systematic approach, offering a scholarly perspective for the analysis of additional datasets within the domain of ancient astronomical catalogs in future investigations.

摘要:The Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope (FAST) Core Array is a proposed extension of FAST, integrating 24 secondary 40-m antennas implanted within 5 km of the FAST site. This original array design will combine the unprecedented sensitivity of FAST with a high angular resolution (4.3" at a frequency of 1.4 GHz), thereby exceeding the capabilities at similar frequencies of next-generation arrays such as the Square Kilometre Array Phase 1 or the next-generation Very Large Array. This article presents the technical specifications of the FAST Core Array, evaluates its potential relatively to existing radio telescope arrays, and describes its expected scientific prospects. The proposed array will be equipped with technologically advanced backend devices, such as real-time signal processing systems. A phased array feed receiver will be mounted on FAST to improve the survey efficiency of the FAST Core Array, whose broad frequency coverage and large field of view( FOV) will be essential to study transient cosmic phenomena such as fast radio bursts and gravitational wave events, to conduct surveys and resolve structures in neutral hydrogen galaxies, to monitor or detect pulsars, and to investigate exoplanetary systems. Finally, the FAST Core Array can strengthen China's major role in the global radio astronomy community, owing to a wide range of potential scientific applications from cosmology to exoplanet science.

摘要: Co-phase and co-focus detection is one of the key technologies for large-aperture segmented mirror telescopes. In this paper, a new edge sensor based on fringes of equal thickness is developed, which can detect each segment's relative piston, tilt, and tip errors from the interferograms. Based on the co-focus demand for many ground-based seeing limited segmented mirror telescopes, an edge sensor prototype based on such a principle is built and applied in the indoor segmented mirror experiment system in the lab. According to the co-focus requirement of the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope, many simulations and experiments are carried out for co-focus error detection of the segmented mirror system. Experiment results show that the co-focus accuracy is better than 0.02 rms, which can meet the co-focus requirements of most large or extremely large segmented mirror astronomical telescopes.

摘要: The radiation mechanism of fast radio bursts (FRBs) has been extensively studied but still remains elusive. Coherent radiation is identified as a crucial component in the FRB mechanism, with charged bunches also playing a significant role under specific circumstances. In the present research, we propose a phenomenological model that draws upon the coherent curvature radiation framework and the magnetized neutron star, taking into account the kinetic energy losses of outflow particles due to inverse Compton scattering (ICS) induced by soft photons within the magnetosphere. By integrating the ICS deceleration mechanism for particles, we hypothesize a potential compression effect on the particle number density within a magnetic tube/family, which could facilitate achieving the necessary size for coherent radiation in the radial direction. This mechanism might potentially enable the dynamic formation of bunches capable of emitting coherent curvature radiation along the curved magnetic field. Moreover, we examine the formation of bunches from an energy perspective. Our discussion suggests that within the given parameter space the formation of bunches is feasible. Finally, we apply this model to FRB 20190520B, one of the most active repeating FRBs discovered and monitored by FAST. Several observed phenomena are explained, including basic characteristics, frequency downward drifting, and bright spots within certain dynamic spectral ranges.

摘要:With the growing significance of space weather forecasting, multi-layer magnetic and helioseismic telescopes are emerging as a key area of research. However, owing to the diverse operational processes and sophisticated hardware configurations of these devices, there is an urgent need for efficient autonomous observation capabilities. An autonomous Master Control System (MCS) can ensure efficient performance, data consistency, and stability, and the prototype presented here adopts a microservices architecture, breaking down the hardware into multiple subsystems and converting their functions into individual services. A central decision-making system leads the operations, supported by three auxiliary systems and three device control systems. Through inter-subsystem service calls, it achieves rapid imaging and spectroscopic monitoring. To verify system stability and observation efficiency, the system was tested on the Solar Full-disk Multi-layer Magnetograph. Experimental results verify this system can operate automatically for 4 consecutive months, acquire photospheric vector magnetic and Doppler velocity fields within a 15-minute interval, and measure chromospheric longitudinal magnetic and Doppler velocity fields in under 180 s. This ensures consistent and stable solar monitoring and serves as a practical methodological benchmark for the development of similar devices.

摘要: The Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST) has discovered more than 650 new pulsars, which account for 20% of our known Galactic pulsar population. In this paper, we estimate the prospect of a pulsar survey with a radio telescope array to be planned -- the FAST Array (FASTA), consists of six FAST-type telescopes. Such a sensitive radio telescope array would be a powerful instrument in probing the pulsar population deep into our Galaxy as well as in nearby galaxies. We simulate the FASTA pulsar discovery prospects with different Galactic pulsar population models and instrumental parameter combinations. We find that FASTA could detect tens of thousands of canonical pulsars and well-over thousands of millisecond pulsars. We also estimate the potential yield if the FASTA is used to search for pulsars from the nearby spiral galaxy M31, and find that it would probably discover around a hundred new radio pulsars.

摘要: We present the analysis of seven microlensing planetary events with planet/host mass ratios q < 10^{-4}: KMT-2017-BLG-1194, KMT-2017-BLG-0428, KMT-2019-BLG-1806, KMT-2017-BLG-1003, KMT-2019-BLG-1367, OGLE-2017-BLG-1806, and KMT-2016-BLG-1105. They were identified by applying the Korea Microlensing Telescope Network (KMTNet) AnomalyFinder algorithm to 2016--2019 KMTNet events. A Bayesian analysis indicates that all the lens systems consist of a cold super-Earth orbiting an M or K dwarf. Together with 17 previously published and three that will be published elsewhere, AnomalyFinder has found a total of 27 planets that have solutions with q < 10^{-4} from 2016--2019 KMTNet events, which lays the foundation for the first statistical analysis of the planetary mass-ratio function based on KMTNet data. By reviewing the 27 planets, we find that the missing planetary caustics problem in the KMTNet planetary sample has been solved by AnomalyFinder. We also find a desert of high-magnification planetary signals (A≳65), and a follow-up project for KMTNet high-magnification events could detect at least two more q < 10^{-4} planets per year and form an independent statistical sample.

摘要:The Jiao Tong University Spectroscopic Telescope (JUST) is a 4.4-meter f/6.0 segmented-mirror telescope dedicated to spectroscopic observations. The JUST primary mirror is composed of 18 hexagonal segments, each with a diameter of 1.1 m. JUST provides two Nasmyth platforms for placing science instruments. One Nasmyth focus fits a field of view of 10 ′ and the other has an extended field of view of 1.2° with correction optics. A tertiary mirror is used to switch between the two Nasmyth foci. JUST will be installed at a site at Lenghu in Qinghai Province, China, and will conduct spectroscopic observations with three types of instruments to explore the dark universe, trace the dynamic universe, and search for exoplanets: (1) a multi-fiber (2000 fibers) medium-resolution spectrometer (R=4 000−5 000) to spectroscopically map galaxies and large-scale structure; (2) an integral field unit (IFU) array of 500 optical fibers and/or a long-slit spectrograph dedicated to fast follow-ups of transient sources for multi-messenger astronomy; (3) a high-resolution spectrometer (R~100 000) designed to identify Jupiter analogs and Earth-like planets, with the capability to characterize the atmospheres of hot exoplanets.

摘要: We present spectroscopy of stars in the immediate vicinity of the dwarf nova (DN) KZ Gem to confirm its identification, which had been ambiguous in the literature. Analysis of 73 radial velocities spanning from 2014 to 2019 provides a high-precision orbital period of 0.2224628(2) d (~5.34 hr) and shows KZ Gem to be a double-lined DN. Time series photometry taken from 2016 to 2018 shows a variable double-hump modulation with a full amplitude of ~0.3 mag, along with five Gaussian-like transient events lasting ~30 min or more. Using the light curve code XRBinary and nonlinear fitting code NMfit, we obtain an optimized binary model of the dwarf nova (DN) KZ Gem, from time series photometry, consisting of a Roche-lobe-filling K type dwarf with a mass transfer rate of 2.7 - 7.9 x 10^{-10} solar mass per yr to a large, cool and thick disk surrounding a white dwarf, in an orbit with an inclination of 51.6(+/-1.4) degree. Two hotspots on the disk are demonstrated to cause the observed variations in the ellipsoidal modulations from the secondary star. This physical model is compatible with the Gaia distance of KZ Gem.

摘要: We used the light curve code XRBinary to model the quiescent K2 light curves of three low-inclination cataclysmic variables (CVs): 1RXS\,J0632+2536 (J0632+2536), RZ\,Leo, TW\,Vir and the pre-CV WD\,1144+011. Optimized light curve models were obtained using a nonlinear fitting code NMfit and visualized by Phoebe 2.0. The disk model of J0632+2536 shows that one hotspot at the edge of the disk is enough to describe its light curve, while the other two dwarf nova (DN): RZ\,Leo and TW\,Vir require two hotspots. A typical pre-CV model with a weak irradiation effect for WD\,1144+011 can explain its single-hump modulation and the newly observed spectrum confirms its previous classification. The synthetic analyses for the DN clearly indicate that phase zero of the double-hump modulations occurs around the secondary minimum and the primary hump is mainly caused by the hotspot at the edge of the disk. The quiescent disk has a flat temperature distribution with a power index of $\sim0.11$. The disk model of RZ\,Leo implies a truncated disk, supporting its previously speculated classification as an intermediate polar (IP). Except for the IP model of RZ\,Leo, which lacks a component related to the inferred accretion curtain, the models of J0632+2536, TW\,Vir and WD\,1144+011 are consistent with results from the Gaia mission. The derived masses and radii of the secondaries of the three DN are consistent with the semi-empirical relations for CV donor stars, while their effective temperatures are higher than the predictions. Irradiation of the donor stars is investigated to explain this discrepancy.

摘要: The small-scale linear information in galaxy samples typically lost during non-linear growth can be restored to a certain level by the density field reconstruction, which has been demonstrated for improving the precision of the baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO) measurements. As proposed in the literature, a joint analysis of the power spectrum before and after the reconstruction enables an efficient extraction of information carried by high-order statistics. However, the statistics of the post#2;reconstruction density field are difficult to model. In this work, we circumvent this issue by developing an accurate emulator for the pre-reconstructed, post-reconstructed, and cross power spectra (Ppre, Ppost, Pcross) up to k = 0.5 h Mpc1 based on the Dark Quest N-body simulations. The accuracy of the emulator is at percent level, namely, the error of the emulated monopole and quadrupole of the power spectra is less than 1% and 5% of the ground truth, respectively. A fit to an example power spectra using the emulator shows that the constraints on cosmological parameters get largely improved using Ppre+Ppost+Pcross with kmax = 0.25 h Mpc1 , compared to that derived from Ppre alone, namely, the constraints on (Ωm, H0, 8) are tightened by 41% 55%, and the uncertainties of the derived BAO and RSD parameters (, , f8) shrink by 28% 54%, respectively. This highlights the complementarity among Ppre, Ppost and Pcross, which demonstrates the efficiency and practicability of a joint Ppre, Ppost and Pcross analysis for cosmological implications.

摘要: Magnetars are neutron stars with extremely strong magnetic fields, frequently powering high-energy activity in X-rays. Pulsed radio emission following some X-ray outbursts have been detected, albeit its physical origin is unclear. It has long been speculated that the origin of magnetars' radio signals is different from those from canonical pulsars, although convincing evidence is still lacking. Five months after magnetar SGR 1935+2154's X-ray outburst and its associated Fast Radio Burst (FRB) 20200428, a radio pulsar phase was discovered. Here we report the discovery of X-ray spectral hardening associated with the emergence of periodic radio pulsations from SGR 1935+2154 and a detailed analysis of the properties of the radio pulses. The complex radio pulse morphology, which contains both narrow-band emission and frequency drifts, has not been seen before in other magnetars, but is similar to those of repeating FRBs - even though the luminosities are many orders of magnitude different. The observations suggest that radio emission originates from the outer magnetosphere of the magnetar, and the surface heating due to the bombardment of inward-going particles from the radio emission region is responsible for the observed X-ray spectral hardening.
