On August 12, 2023, the National Joint Conference on High Quality Development of Academic Journals in Psychology and the 10th Anniversary of the Journal of Soochow University (Educational Science Edition) was held in Suzhou, hosted by the Publication Committee of the Chinese Psychological Association, and organized by the College of Education of Soochow University and the Soochow University Journal Center.
The participants unanimously recognized that the concepts of "availability," "sharing," "transparency," "reuse," and "interaction with society" advocated by Open Science will help to improve the quality of psychology research in China, the reproducibility of conclusions, and the impact of results, and will be of great importance to better serve the country's scientific decision-making and to enhance the people's understanding of, and trust in, psychology. In order to promote the further development of psychology in China, the participants reached a consensus on a number of core proposals after discussion, and issued the following initiatives to Chinese psychology researchers:
1.Advocate that psychology researchers uphold the concept of open science in their research practice and realize openness and transparency in the whole process of scientific research.
2.Support the open exchange of papers in the form of preprints before their official publication in journals.
3.Advocate pre-registration before the start of the study to increase the transparency of the study.
4.Without violating national data-related laws and regulations, it is strongly recommended that papers be published in a manner that is consistent with the principles of "discoverability", "accessibility", "interoperability", "reusability", "accessibility", "accessibility", "interoperability", and "reusability". It is strongly recommended to disclose the associated data on scientific data platforms that comply with the principles of "discoverability", "accessibility", "interoperability", and "reusability" at the same time of publication.
5.Actively encourage the full disclosure of key elements of the reproducible research process, such as measurement tools, experimental materials, data codes, observation records and program codes, etc., in the form of annexes to the paper or other associated forms.
