About the Pilot

  • CSIRO Publishing and the National Science Library, Chinese Academy of Sciences (NSL,CAS) are delighted to be extending their relationship to accelerate the communication of research.
  • Currently researchers from the China have access to all research published in CSIRO Publishing peer-reviewed journals through the National Science Library, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
  • Now, authors who have articles in the ChinaXiv preprint server will also be able to seamlessly submit to selected CSIRO Publishing journals in the Agriculture, Forestry, Livestock and Aquatic Products category.

How to join in the Pilot

1.Author submits preprint article to ChinaXiv and specifies target journal。

2.Author will receive editor’s reply in 7 business days.

a.Editor invites author to submit, provides a submission link and discount Article Processing Charge (APC) code; or

b.Editor declines the preprint for submission

Business Days means a day that is not a public holiday or weekend in Victoria, Australia.

3.If invited to submit, authors submit via ScholarOne journal submission site

4.Authors complete submission process, including:

a.Upload cover letter which includes Preprint Title, ID and URL (template provided separately)

b.Answer question at Step 6:

Is a preprint of this paper available on ChinaXiv?

Yes

No

If yes, please specify the preprint ID:

5.Manuscript undergoes peer review

6.If accepted, the paper moves to Production and receives prioritised handling to achieve an expedited acceptance to publication turnaround time (target 14 days provided that the author responds to requests from the Publisher within 24 hours).

7.Author receives an email from CSIRO Publishing’s partner, the Copyright Clearance Center (CCC), after acceptance. Author follows the link to the RightsLink platform to select an open access licence for their paper and to pay the open access article processing charge (APC) or decline open access to publish free of charge in hybrid journals. Author uses discount code to receive 25% discount off the APC on the RightsLink platform.

8.Author responds to requests from Production Editor within 24 hours and approves a proof prior to online publication.

9.Paper is published online with a link to the preprint on ChinaXiv included in the paper’s Data Availability Statement.

10.CSIRO Publishing requires the author to provide a link from the preprint on ChinaXiv to the final published paper via its Digital Object Identifier (DOI).
