Analysis on Counter Code of Practice: Release 5 postprint

Abstract: [Purpose/significance] The Benefit evaluation is becoming more and more important under the background of expanding e-resources and increasing funding. COUNTER code of Practice has provided consistent, credible and comparable statistical standards over the past ten years. [Method/process] RELEASE 5 is now available. Compared with the previous edition, this article summarizes its new features in the following aspects, such as document formats, resource types, element types, report attributes and scope of applications, and making a preliminary analysis. [Result/conclusion] The new version updates elements, increases measurements, enhances the flexibility of customization requirements, and realizes simplification and clarity of reports. It will provide better protection for the standardized management and interest maintenance of all stakeholders in the book supply chain. Studying the new version in advance will help libraries to carry out resource procurement and evaluation better.
