Abstract:
[Purpose/significance] In terms of the issue how the traditional mass media more effectively implement the national soft power strategy by the means of technology and platforms such as Internet and social media,this paper aims at exploring the ways of implementing the national soft power strategy through the new type of media at the national level. It takes “Russian Today” (RT) as an example. [Method/process] With the literature review and the case analysis, this paper analyzed the experience of RT about how to implement the media strategy of “restructuring the Russian image” and “expressing Russian ideas ”. [Result/conclusion] The result shows that the traditional media can succeed in transformation by the means of modern media technology to more effectively serve the nationaly soft power strategy. It can help strenthen the confidence of media in China and other emerging countries and restructure the pattern of the world information dissemination.
